Measures to protect the child from corona virus

Covid-19 is a disease caused by the Nobel Corona virus (SARS-Cov-2). As it is new, the world knows very little about this virus and disease. The disease, which has not yet found a suitable treatment and vaccine, started in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. The World Health Organization declared it an epidemic on March 11, 2020.

Corona disease is seen in people of different ages with different symptoms. Immunity, especially in senior citizens (over 60 years of age), such as those with chronic illness, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, liver and kidney disease, has been found to be more complex and mortality has been found to be higher.

So far, studies around the world have found that the corona virus is not as complex in children and the mortality rate is low. Because some children do not show symptoms of the disease or even if they do, they present as a common cold, so children can move adults and senior citizens in the household. Schools have to be closed as children cannot maintain social distance.

In Nepal, 17 children under the age of 18 have been infected with the corona virus. Fortunately, most patients are asymptomatic and physically fit. No one has been killed so far. But if those patients who do not show symptoms of the disease are not found in time and secluded, there is a fear that the disease will spread to a large number of communities.

Corona disease is mainly transmitted from an infected person (with or without symptoms) to a healthy person. If an infected person coughs or sneezes, the particles or specks that enter the body of a healthy person through inhalation can spread the disease if the particles enter the body through the mouth, nose and eyes of a healthy person. The disease can be transmitted to a healthy person through the mask of an infected person, the surface he has touched, etc.

The symptoms of corona can be divided into 3 groups:
1. Asymptomatic: These babies look normal. They have no symptoms of the disease, most children fall into this group.

2. Common Symptoms: Some children may have a fever, dry cough, weakness, and muscle aches. In such cases, a doctor's advice should be sought and hospitalized as needed.

3. If you have symptoms of a severe covidar infection, you need to be hospitalized immediately. Such a child may need to be admitted to the ICU in some cases and may even die.

Although most children have Covid-19 disease, they may not have any symptoms. Some children have a fever, dry cough, and muscle aches. In this case, you should consult a doctor. Very few children can show severe symptoms of the disease.
