Ward chairman dies in quarantine

Kallu Rana, 58, ward chairman of Krishnapur Municipality Ward No. 7 of Kanchanpur, who was involved in quarantine system, has died last night. Rana, who lost consciousness while sitting in a chair in the quarantine of Rastriya Madhyamik Vidyalaya, died. Rana reached home in the evening, took a bath, ate food and reached the quarantine.

A new quarantine was set up, said Mayor Karna Bahadur Hamal. He said that Rana may have died of a heart attack as he had not shown any symptoms of the disease before.

The body of Rana has been shifted to Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi for autopsy. After the autopsy of the deceased Rana at the hospital, a sample of swab will be collected and examined.
