Rukum West. The ward chairman has been arrested for vandalizing a temporary police post.
Police have arrested Ward Chairman of Musikot-13 Deepak KC for vandalizing a police post at Chiwangjula of Musikot Municipality-14.
KC and two other youths have also been arrested. The arrested are Rajan KC and Khil Raj Giri, police said.
A team led by Ward Chairman KC had vandalized the police post on Tuesday night. After that, both the youths including Ward Chairman KC were absconding.
Police have arrested the absconding ward chairman and two youths from Todke of Musikot-13.
District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Thak Bahadur KC informed that the investigation has been started by extending the term of the three arrested persons in the case of indecent behavior.
According to Pranau KC, the term has been extended for 10 days at the District Administration Office. He said that others involved in the incident were also being searched.
According to Dhan Bahadur Saud, Assistant Inspector in-charge of the temporary police post, Ward Chairman KC started a fight with the police and then a group of 20/25 locals vandalized the police post.
In-charge Saud said that a team led by the ward chairman vandalized the police post set up for the safety of the citizens and damaged all the items kept for vehicle inspection, wooden fence and chairs in front of the police post.
He said that the incident had demoralized the police and they were feeling insecure.
