
Parbat: The Kushma Bazaar, which was shut down due to a three-month lockdown, has been closed again for a week. The market has been closed indefinitely again after five health workers working at Parbat Hospital were found to have corona infection.
The Mountain Industries Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called for the closure of all businesses in the market except the urgent ones until further notice. A statement issued by the association's president Kedarnath Sharma said that the mountains are at high risk of contracting the corona virus and all services except emergency services should be shut down and safe stay at home until further notice. The market has been tightened after it was found that all the five health workers, including two doctors of the hospital, were working till the time the infection was confirmed, mixing with family and friends.
The Corona Prevention District Level Command Post has sealed off the hospital and parts of the market. Security personnel have been deployed around the sealed hospital and in Badagaun area since Friday afternoon. The public is completely barred from walking and opening shops. Residents of Badagaun have accused the hospital of serious negligence saying that the infection has spread in the community from the infected doctors and health workers. Residents around the hospital have alleged that the suspects were kept in quarantine for at least a week and sent to work only after the test results
According to Parbat Hospital, 81 people who came in contact with the infected doctors and health workers on suspicion of spreading the infection in the community have been sent for examination. Besides, the swabs of about 50 others should be tested immediately. Bhojraj Gautam said.
