The story of the social distance Ekadesh in the quarantine of Dailekh
Those in the quarantine of Devati Basic School in Bhairavi Gaonpalika-3 of Dailekh staged a protest on Sunday evening.
More than 100 returnees from India were housed here. They left the quarantine site at around 7 pm and shouted slogans for one and a half to two kilometers.
According to Chief Administrative Officer Hira Singh Thapa, there are more than 1600 people in 21 quarantines of the village municipality. It is difficult to provide them with food and shelter. Some of them are kept in private houses as the school building is not enough. Thapa says, ‘15/16 people have to be kept in one room. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average person. ’
But in the discussion held on Monday morning, 65 people have been sent after those who tested positive for RDT demanded to be allowed to go home. "Even quarantine is not well organized. 15/16 people have to stay in one room. One and a half hundred people have to use one toilet. This has led to the spread of other diseases as well, ”Thapa said.
Not only Bhairavi, but most of the local level quarantines in Dailekh are full. There is no condition to meet the health criteria including social distance.
Mayor of Narayan Municipality Ratna Bahadur Khadka says, "We have quarantined all the existing school buildings." Now it is not possible to quarantine those who come. '
The municipality has 1429 people in 21 quarantines. The quarantine sites are overcrowded. Mayor Khadka admitted that 218 people had to be kept in the quarantine of Narayan Campus built for 105 people. He says, "The social distance in the quarantine is far away and there is a situation where even a roof cannot be provided to protect it from water and wind."
He said that it was not possible to manage the situation after a large number of people came on December 26. In the last two days, a large number of people have not come to the Jamunah checkpoint in Banke. But 40/50 people come daily from Banbasa Naka. Mayor of Narayan Municipality Khadka said that they could not be kept in quarantine now.
Mayor of Dullu Municipality Ghanshyam Bhandari also said that the quarantine sites could not meet the criteria of social distance. "We have taken those from India to school. We have given two tablespoons of rice to eat, ”Mayor Bhandari told Online Khabar.
According to him, there are about 2,500 people in the 34 quarantines set up by the municipality. Those who return from India arrive in 5/7 vehicles every day. And, the number of those who need to be quarantined is estimated to reach 5/6 thousand.
Eight people have been infected in the municipality, including a two-year-old girl.
Mayor Bhandari said that the test of those sitting in the quarantine has become challenging. Although the municipality has purchased 2,000 units of Viral Transport Medium (VTM), the test report has been delayed. We have sent 202 samples to Karnali Institute of Health Sciences on April 3 and 116 to Surkhet on April 3. But so far no report has been received, ”he said. Otherwise, there will be a rally soon. '
According to Mayor Bhandari, the municipality has built a 30-bed isolation bed. But as the test rate increases, it appears to be insufficient.
