A mother and daughter have died in a fire at the house of Nara Bahadur Shrestha near a swimming pool in Dharan Sub-metropolis-17 of Sunsari district. The house caught fire on Thursday morning due to power outage.
According to DSP Dhudiraj Neupane of Area Police Office Dharan, Nara Bahadur's wife Dhanmaya Shrestha and disabled daughter Sita died in the fire. After a fire broke out in Nara Bahadur's two-storey wooden house, Dhanmaya had entered the house to save her disabled daughter.
A neighbor Naren Mar informed that two people were burnt to death when gas exploded inside the house where Dhanmaya was on fire. The fire brigade and locals have brought the fire under control from Dharan Sub-metropolis. The fire destroyed Nara Bahadur's jewelery, clothes, food and rent.
