Why is the number of corona infections increasing in Nepal?

On Friday, 170 people were found infected in Nepal on the same day. This is the first time so many people have been infected in one day.

A total of 156 people were found infected on Thursday and 114 on Tuesday. This fact confirms that the number of infected people and the risk of corona is increasing day by day.

The first infected person was found in Nepal on January 25. Two months later, a second person was found infected on March 25. Both of them were infected Nepalis from foreign countries. Since then, they have been found infected daily.

Many infected people have been found on the same day since April. Six people have died from the corona infection so far. The infection that started in some districts has reached 52 districts in about five months.

Experts say the government has increased the scope of testing, loosening the locks in the middle and increasing the rate of infection due to open border checkpoints.

Dr. Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Diseases Hospital. Sher Bahadur reiterates, ‘The scope of testing has now increased. In the meantime, the woodcut was a bit loose and the rate of corona infection is increasing due to the open border. '

However he acknowledged that their numbers were not enough to defeat President Conte's government. He said the risk of corona infection could not be reduced unless the government tightened security at the border.

Most of the quarantines currently operating in the country do not meet government standards. Experts also say that this increases the risk of corona infection.

"People have been reluctant, scared and intimidated by the government's failure to explain the importance of quarantine. Therefore, the importance of quarantine should be explained, 'he said.

Many believe that corona dies as soon as it is injected. But if treated in time, he will recover. Explains again He said that only the infected people are treated in foreign countries and those who do not show any symptoms are cured even when they are resting at home.

Most of the infections seen in Nepal are asymptomatic. According to Dr. Madan Upadhyaya, Medical Superintendent of Narayani Hospital, the infected people undergoing treatment at the hospital are asymptomatic. He informed that they were treated only as per the need.

Recently, some experts have said that the corona infection has spread to the third stage, i.e. at the community level. Dr. Although Pun said that it cannot be said right now that Corona has entered the third stage, heart specialist Dr. Ommurti Anil says that Corona has entered the third phase.

Dr. Murthy said, ‘For the first time in Nepal, he died due to corona. Whether we have the evidence or not, the situation is similar. "
Dr. According to Pun, there are two main reasons why Corona has entered the third phase. The first is the sudden increase in the number of infections and the second is the unknown source of the spread of the infection.

Dr. Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Diseases Hospital. Anup Banstola said that corona infection is seen in various pocket areas of the community. He said that the possibility of Nepal entering the third phase of Corona has increased after some time.

"It looks like a sack that encloses with a drawstring," he said. We have also found one or two clusters. Infected people without knowing the source have also started to be found. With all this, we are likely to enter the third phase after some time, ”he said.

According to him, people returning from India are transmitting the infection. He said that the number of infected people has also increased due to the government's easing of looting.

This is the main reason for being found infected, especially in Kathmandu. Due to the ease of logging, people from different districts affected by the Corona could easily enter the Kathmandu Valley.

Corona is more prevalent in the world in the age group of 50 years and above. But in Nepal, the effects of corona infection are more prevalent among the youth. Coronas are the most common age group in the 21- to 30-year-old age group.

Dr. Banstola says, ‘Most of the young people from Nepal go abroad and to India. They have gone to study and work. They are the ones who are returning now. After the lockdown, the elderly and the chronically ill have stayed at home. That is why there is more infection in the youth. '

He said that the same youths are more likely to move the corona to the elderly and the chronically ill in the coming days. He said that if the corona infection spreads at the community level, the number of elderly and chronic patients will also increase in the future.

He said that corona can be prevented and controlled only if the government strictly enforces lockdown and increases the scope of testing in areas where infection is seen.

‘Lockdown must be strictly enforced. The scope of testing should be increased. The scope of testing should be increased, especially in areas where there is an infection, ”he said. He said the government should formulate a new strategy for the prevention and control of corona.

Co-spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari says that the number of infected people is also increasing as the flow from India has not stopped and the scope of testing has increased. He said the ministry had drawn up a Covid Response Emergency Plan for the prevention and control of corona.

He said that according to the plan, the number of infected people needs to be taken to the hospital, manpower and health facilities are required.
