Kathmandu: The logo of the Federal Parliament will be changed according to the new map of Nepal. A meeting of the National Assembly Business Advisory Committee on Sunday decided to change the logo.
The committee has decided to change the map used in the logo of the parliament after the government issued a new political and administrative map of Nepal including Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek. Assistant Spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat Dasharath Dhamala informed that the government has decided to change the map used in the logo accordingly after publishing the changed map of Nepal in the Gazette.
The meeting also decided to request the House of Representatives to bring uniformity in the logo used by the parliamentarians of both the houses of the federal parliament.
As per Rule 221 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly 2075 BS, the dress of the parliamentarians and the symbol of the federal parliament shall be as prescribed by the chairperson in consultation with the Business Advisory Committee. The meeting called for May 26 has also been postponed to one day. The meeting has been postponed for one day due to the Eid-ul-Fitr festival of the followers of Islam.
Earlier, the government has registered a proposal to amend the constitution to change Nepal's Nissan seal according to the new map.
As soon as the new map is made public, the existing coins, honorary titles, imprints of government bodies, etc. will have to be changed.
