May 22: Security personnel have been deployed in the front line to implement the ban issued by the government to prevent the spread of Corona (Covid-19) infection.
While the risk of infection remains high, some security personnel working in the workplace have been infected with COVID-19 by adopting the available personal health protection.
As per the information received, 12 out of 453 people in the country have contracted Kovid-19 and 12 security personnel have also been affected.
He is being treated in isolation. The corona virus has been found in six members of the Nepal Police, four members of the Armed Police Force and two members of the Nepal Army. Everyone's health condition is reported to be normal.
If the disease is found in the security personnel who are regularly connected with the general public, the possibility of transmission to the citizens is high. Concerned security officials have pointed out the need to be vigilant in that regard.
Security personnel are at the same risk as health workers assigned to health check-ups and treatment. But they are not able to use personal safety equipment and necessary precautions like health workers.
They can't maintain social distance even if they want to because they have to stop crowding people. You have to wear a mask to protect yourself. Security personnel are carrying out their duties in compliance with the orders of the government with high morale amidst the available resources.
Central Spokesperson of Nepal Police Neeraj Bahadur Shahi says that the police is working with high morale by adopting vigilance to prevent the spread of the infection. The Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have arranged necessary quarantine to prevent the spread of the infection. Those who have come from home leave are kept in quarantine and operated according to the health standards.
According to Spokesperson Shahi, the Assistant Inspector of Police and Deputy Inspector of Police working in the Kalimati Circle in Kathmandu have been infected on Wednesday.
In Dhankuta, Bara, one each and in Kapilvastu, two policemen have been infected. Chief of the Metropolitan Police Office, Bishwaraj Pokharel, who is in charge of the Valley Police, said that there is a risk of infection in the frontline police.
Four employees of the Armed Police Force deployed in the border area have also contracted Kovid-19. Central Spokesperson of the Armed Police, Deputy Inspector General Pravin Kumar Shrestha, says that the morale will not decrease even if there is some transition in the Armed Police Force.
He said that the Armed Police Force was mobilized as per the required security measures. Spokesperson of the Nepal Army Bijnan Dev Pandey said that two officers of the Nepal Army were also seen in Kovid-19. According to him, one more person has been infected abroad.
Whether it is to maintain peace and security of the country, to prevent criminal incidents or other incidents, it is the police that the common man remembers first. Nepal Police is at the forefront in implementing important decisions of the country such as general crowds, quarrels, accidents, thefts.
