Hotels And Resorts Will Be Used To Keep Those Returning From Abroad In Quarantine


Hotels and resorts will be used for quarantine management to keep the citizens returning from abroad.
During a discussion held at the Ministry of Urban Development on Thursday, Minister of State Ram Bir Manandhar said that necessary consultations have been started on quarantining the well-run hotels and resorts across the country.
According to him, 518 beds are being prepared in Kathmandu Valley at present. Around 65,000 quarantines are being prepared across the country, of which 25,000 are in the general quarantine.
Minister of State Manandhar, who is in charge of monitoring and facilitating quarantine across the country, said that the government was taking initiative to manage large hotels as quarantine at a time of crisis in the country.
According to Minister of State Manandhar, the government will be able to use the currently vacant hotels for the survival of the people by paying a certain amount.
Stating that preparations have been made for the necessary quarantine in the Kathmandu Valley after the government rescued the Nepali nationals who were in distress abroad, he clarified that the priority of the general government is to go to the Gulf countries for labor. 
Minister of State Manandhar informed that the government is discussing to set up a temporary quarantine in the Kathmandu Valley and manage it through the concerned local level.
Stating that there is weakness in quarantine management in some places, Minister of State Manandhar informed that the government has already made necessary coordination for immediate improvement.
Stating that the cost of quarantine management will be borne by the federal government, Minister of State Manandhar urged the local governments across the country to be involved in the management with confidence.
Minister of State for Health and Population Nawaraj Rawat, who is in charge of monitoring and facilitation, urged the local government to abide by the standards set by the government.
Minister of State Rawat said that the management of the people coming from India in Darchula, Banke, Bardiya, Jumla, Bajura, Parsa, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts would not be allowed to weaken.
