The government has decided to extend the lockdown for another 12 days. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Saturday evening has decided to maintain the lockdown till May 12.
Similarly, a meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar has decided to close the international border and the airport till July 30.
The deadline for the last extension added by the government is coming to an end on May 6. The government has decided to extend the lockdown on the recommendation of the High Level Committee on Corona Virus Prevention and Control.
The meeting approved the action plan to bring Nepalis stranded abroad, said a minister.
The government will repatriate Nepalis stranded abroad on the basis of priority by registering their names at the Nepali embassy in the country where they are staying. The government plans to enter the district only after keeping them in quarantine for 14 days in hotels in Kathmandu after bringing them to Nepal.
