In the last 24 hours, another 166 people were confirmed to have corona infection on Sunday, the ministry said.
At a regular media briefing organized by the ministry, spokesperson Dr Vikas Devkota said that the number of infected people has reached 1,567.
Among the infected are 1 from Tanahun, 2 from Syangja, 5 from Parsa, 18 from Kalikot, 18 from Dailekh, 1 from Bajura, 25 from Salyan, 1 from Surkhet, 4 from Banke, 4 from Nepalgunj, 12 from Saptari and 3 from Kailali. According to the ministry, there are 2 from Bajura, 4 from Jhapa, 21 from Dhanusha, 5 from Kapilvastu, 29 from Rautahat and 10 from Sarlahi.
So far, 220 of the infected have recovered and returned home. One person has been discharged in the last 24 hours. The woman from Makwanpur has returned home after being discharged. The number of people in quarantine is 119,192. The number of people living in isolation is 1,349 across the country.
According to the ministry, 111,109 samples have been tested using RDT method in Nepal till Sunday. So far 69,582 tests have been done using PCR method.
So far, eight people have died of corona infection in Sindhupalchowk, one in Banke, one in Gulmi, one in Bara, one in Lalitpur, one in Arghakhanchi, one in Dailekh and one in Bajura
