Citizens from remote areas entering from India will be kept safe

Surkhet: The remote citizens entering Karnali from India will now be stopped in Surkhet. The state government has now decided to manage the citizens of remote Humla, Dolpa and Mug entering Karnali in Surkhet.

Residents of those districts entering from India and other countries will now be kept in the quarantine set up in Surkhet and sent to the district only after the final report of Corona is negative.

Earlier, the state government had been sending citizens of Humla, Dolpa and Mugu to the villages overnight. But they had to charter a helicopter to take the swab for their corona test, which was sent to the village overnight.

Helicopters were used to take swabs in those geographically remote and inaccessible areas by road. This had increased the pressure on the state government to manage the citizens of Surkhet saying that it was a double expenditure of the state government.

Finally, the state government has also decided to manage the citizens of remote districts entering Karnali from outside in Surkhet. A meeting of the State Disaster Management Center chaired by Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi on Sunday decided to stop the citizens of Dugarma from entering Karnali in Surkhet.

According to the decision, now the citizens of remote areas entering Karnali from India, third countries and other parts of the country will be kept in Surkhet till the report of corona test is received.

According to the Office of the Chief Minister and the Office of the Council of Ministers, it has been decided to manage the situation in Surkhet as it is difficult to get swabs when there is an emergency.

The state government claims that this will stop the double expenditure of the government and if the suspects coming from outside are stopped in Surkhet, those districts which have not seen any infection so far will also be safe.

With this decision, if the residents of those districts come from outside, they will be kept in the quarantine of Surkhet and will be sent to the village only after the health test confirms that there is no corona.

It has been criticized that the government has doubled the cost of sending the citizens of those districts home overnight and chartering helicopters for health check-ups and deployment of doctors. 'Dolpa, Mugu and Humla have a lower risk of corona infection, and those districts now have fewer immigrants.

Of the three districts, Dolpa is estimated to have the lowest number of citizens at 1,000. "Even before, people in remote areas could not be stopped in Surkhet. Charging a helicopter to collect swabs cost them twice as much. That cost can be managed in Surkhet," said the source. '

Earlier, the corona test of all the citizens who went to those districts from outside has been completed.

The state government says the decision was made because it would be difficult to control the spread of the disease in remote areas. In order to prevent this risk, it has been decided to keep the citizens of those districts coming from outside in Surkhet and send them to the village only after it is confirmed that there is no corona.
