The risk of infection remains as there is no system to test the health of the driver and assistant

Kathmandu: There is a risk of corona infection due to lack of systematic system to check the health of the drivers and assistants of the vehicles entering Kathmandu.

According to the Traffic Police Department, around 3,000 drivers and co-drivers are entering the Kathmandu Valley daily. Although the government has tightened its grip on the Kathmandu Valley as the infection has been on the rise, no systematic health check-up has been arranged for the drivers and helpers of trucks coming from the infected district.

In just three days, 4,281 trucks, tippers and light vehicles have entered Kathmandu. 7 thousand 69 people have entered Kathmandu in all vehicles. In the last three days, three buses carrying 49 passengers entered Kathmandu through Bhaktapur's Jagati Naka.

In the 24 hours from 6 am on Thursday to 6 am on Friday, 1406 trucks and tippers have entered. Meanwhile, 351 light vehicles and a bus have entered the area during the same period. 2447 people have entered the Kathmandu Valley by truck / tipper, 694 people by light vehicle and 13 people by bus.

The number of vehicles entering the valley from Province 2 and Bagmati Province, which are at high risk of infection, is 559. When vehicles enter Kathmandu through districts at risk of infection, there is a risk of infection from drivers and associates
